Helping Families Start the School Year with Confidence
Since 2021, the North Central Family Centre (NCFC) and Alliance Energy have partnered to deliver the annual Back to School Bash, helping hundreds of children and youth in Regina’s North Central community start the school year prepared, confident, and excited for the year ahead.
Working alongside generous community sponsors, donors, and volunteers, Alliance Energy helps coordinate fundraising efforts, secure school supplies, and bring together the resources needed to make this event possible each year.
For many families, rising costs make it difficult to afford even the basic supplies needed for school. Together, NCFC and Alliance Energy are committed to ensuring no child starts the school year feeling left behind. This initiative is about more than backpacks; it is about supporting families, strengthening community connections, and giving every child the opportunity to succeed.
More Than Just School Supplies - What We Provide:
550 Backpacks/Binders filled with essential school supplies.
Nutritious snack bags to fuel young learners.
Clothing and shoe donations to ensure kids have what they need.
Household items for families facing financial hardship.
A BBQ meal for 1,000 people.
Exciting activities including face painting, balloon animals, and carnival games to make this day special for kids.
Community Partner Tables for additional resources that families can benefit from (i.e. SHA, Big Brothers Big Sisters)
Why It Matters
The Back to School Bash is about removing barriers so every child can focus on learning, not on what they lack. Through this event, we build connections with families, ensuring they have the resources and support needed not just for one day, but throughout the year. Beyond the event, at NCFC we prepare to see upwards of 70 kids attend our after school program in the fall, where we serve snack, supper and provide engaging activities and safe transportation home. All of this is made possible by the support of the community and helps to ensure children and youth are supported year round.

Be the reason a child starts school with confidence.
$35 provides one child with a backpack or binder filled with school supplies.
$100 supports one full week of programming at the Centre for a child.
Your gift helps children start strong and stay supported throughout the school year.
Tax receipts issued for donations $20+.
Ways to Donate & Support the Initiative:
E-transfer donations to donate@ncfc.ca, send a cheque to North Central Family Centre or donate online here (Please note "Back to School” in memo)
Sponsor snack bags, school supplies, prizes, BBQ meals, games, or other event essentials
Volunteer to help with games, food service, or giveaways
Encourage your friends, family, workplace or organization to get involved
Collect donations of clothing, footwear and other essential items to support children, youth and families.
Together, we can ensure that every child in North Central walks into their first day of school with confidence, excitement, and everything they need to succeed.
