Child & Youth Program
The Child and Youth Empowerment Program provides a safe, supportive, and enriching opportunity for children and youth ages 6-17. We primarily serve Regina’s North Central community. Grounded in principles of inclusion, cultural relevance, and trauma-informed care, the program offers structured after-school, evening and summer activities that promote leadership, creativity, health, and community connections.
Operating year-round, the program runs weekday afternoons and evenings between September and June (3:30 PM–9:00 PM, and until 10:00 PM on Fridays), and daily from 1:00 PM–9:00 PM in July and August. This extended schedule ensures that youth have access to a safe, nurturing environment during high-risk hours.
Key program highlights this year included:
Arts and Crafts
Cultural workshops and activities
Leadership training and employment readiness initiatives for older youth
Health and wellness programming
Field trips and community events that expand youth experiences beyond their immediate environment
The Child and Youth Empowerment Program plays a critical role in reducing barriers, building confidence, and fostering a sense of belonging. As Children and Youth in North Central continue to face challenges related to poverty, systemic inequity, and social exclusion, NCFC remains committed to being a place of stability, growth, and opportunity.
2024-2025 Highlights:
